Kilkenny is an inner north-western suburb in the City of Charles Sturt, about seven and a half kilometres from the Adelaide CBD. It straddles Torrens Road where Regency Road joins it, with Kilkenny Road and David Terrace forming the western edge. Armada Arndale sits on Torrens Road in the north of the suburb, Kilkenny railway station serves the Grange and Outer Harbor lines, and Challa Gardens Primary School is on Humphries Terrace. The suburb was created by subdivision in 1849 and named after Kilkenny in Ireland. Today's boundaries also take in the former Challa Gardens area north of Torrens Road.
